Walnut Hill and 75 has been expanding. New restaurants are continuously coming in (even Houndstooth’s newest Dallas location.) Blatt Beer & Table has joined giving the area a casual bar and eating space much like Gordon Biersch did in Shops of Legacy. Here’s hoping it has more success though.
Blatt has a large inside and patio space. It is enough room to comfortably fit diners when they have live music. They have happy hour and lunch specials, pulling in people from nearby businesses. The food was served quickly and the staff, including the manager who was making his rounds, were all friendly.
While there, I ordered their popular Dixie-Fried chicken sandwich with a side of fries. The breading is one of the most important parts for fried chicken, and while the breading was good, there was more of it than chicken. Luckily, the order of fries made up for the lack of substenance of the sandwhich. The fries were excellent and properly seasoned without being over salted. (You can get your fries in the ever so popular garlic & parmesan as well.)
I will go back to order something new or at the very least for happy hour. The happy hour has good prices and a selection of Texas beers. Blatt has a convient location off 75. I suggest adding it to your work happy hour list.
