1 Night, 40+ Local Bands, Multiple Stages in Deep Ellum
Real talk: this isn’t an ad. I have gone to the Dallas Observer Music Awards Showcase for nearly five years now. It is an excellent event to see great local bands of all genres.
Because of this event, I discovered some of the bands featured in previous Sunday Sounds. Here are bands I’m excited to see this year:
- Bobby Sessions
- Blue, the Misfit
- Venetian Sailors
- Lord Byron
- Pearl Earl
- Charlie Crockett
But I’m going to stop in at different shows, especially the bands I don’t know. It is one thing to look up someone’s music online but wholly different experience to see them live.

A tip from previous years: GET VIP TICKETS! Yes, they do cost more (still cheap though). But the private bar with drink tickets alone is worth it. The bars fill up and lines occur. Also, there is a VIP bathroom, so another line you get to skip.
On Saturday, December 7th sample the sounds of over 40 local bands in Deep Ellum, TX. Venues include Club Dada Indoor & Outdoor Stage, Off the Record, Reno’s Chop, Three Links, and Trees!
VIP Admission tickets include entry to all participating showcase venues, 3 drink tickets at VIP private bar (cash bar available after tickets are used), catered buffet, and access to VIP restrooms.
General Admission tickets include entrance to all of the participating showcase venues.
Tickets are on sale now at www.eventbrite.com.
